I am an experienced Mental Health Nurse who has worked within the NHS for over 30 years. I have a broad experience of working with adults, adolescents and younger children. I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapy, and I am fully accredited with the BABCP. I am a qualified EMDR Practitioner.
I have experience working with Adults and children with:
* General Anxiety Disorders
* Self Harm
* Panic Attacks
* Specific Phobias
* Anxiety associated with School
* Work related stress
* Low self esteem
* Health Anxiety
* Social Anxiety
* Obsessional Compulsive Disorders (OCD) – Offering EMDR as an intervention
* CBT Group Work for Adults and Young people
* Low mood/Depression.
I have experience and a particular interest in working with PTSD/Trauma, using both the CBT and EMDR Model.
As a qualified Registered Nurse, Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, and EMDR therapist, I pride myself on working to high standards, offering confidential and evidenced based interventions. I ensure that I maintain this standard in all three qualifications by attending regular Supervision, and maintaining the requirements of the NMC, BABCP and EMDR Europe, working to the professional body standards.
In my 35 years experience of working in Mental Health, I have learnt the importance of working collaboratively with the individual, and the need to have a full understanding of what they would like to achieve.
On our initial appointment together I would complete an assessment, and offer feedback on that day, for us to work together, and discuss the best way forward to support your presenting difficulties. If it was agreed that CBT or EMDR was the appropriate intervention, we would discuss a possible treatment plan with clear goals and objectives.
